Moot Court

Co-curricular and extracurricular activities are conducted an SGLC throughout the year. ‘Moot Court’ is one co-curricular activity which plays an important role in a Law student’s life. We have a meticulous procedure for selecting the students to represent the college in different National and International Moot Court Competitions. Students are encouraged to participate in ‘Moot Court’ right from the First year, as this helps them to develop oratory, drafting and research skills.

Further, this also provides an opportunity for the students to learn to work as a team and get exposure to the latest legal issues. SGLC, Lucknow has an excellent record in ‘Moot-Courts’ which not only forms an integral part of the law curriculum but also is an extremely popular and competitive co-curricular activity. Our students have brought laurels to the college by winning a number of competitions and also securing other prizes like, Best Speaker, Best Researcher and Best Memorial. Mooting as an activity aims to inculcate and improve the research, presentation and argument talent into students so as to equip the budding pleaders with all the court room etiquettes, research experience and advocacy skills. At SGLC, Lucknow, it is a key co-curricular activity wherein the presentation skills and talents in argument of students are screened and further notified about their level in the competition on regular basis.
This initiative is well supported and effectively carried out by dedicated Moot Court Society. Success of effective learning through moot court activity is evident from the following performances of mooters selected and there after participated in various national/international moot court competitions.
